It is time to stop boring you with formalities and talk about more interesting and important aspects of my life:
We love nature. We used to go camping, but since we can not do it anymore we turned our backyard into a little wilderness.
Our three sons are married and we have one granddaughter and three grandsons. The two younger grandchildren live close to us for our grates happiness.
I started carving in 1994 for the sole purpose of relaxation, carved every night if no more than just a half an hour, but I couldn’t retire for the day without it. It is no surprise that I am still learning and every piece I make takes me an eternity.
In January 2007 I learned that there are carving groups and associations in Ontario. I joined the Ontario Wood Carvers Association (OWCA) and the Northern Carving Club in Richmond Hill. Members of the Association must have realized that I am a much better organizer then carver so in May 2007 I had been elected as vice president, and 2009 as the president. In May 2014 I retired from this position.
My major project currently organizing the Maple Leaf Forever tree trunk carving. To see details of this magnificent carving see here.
