After a storm with heavy wind, it was quite a job to clean up the backyard. Many branches that were torn from the trees had fallen on the pathways, on the flowerbeds, on the house, on the shed, in other words branches were everywhere.
This little one, about 10” high, somehow caught my attention and was telling me to save it. I was tending it for a while hoping that it would take root, but it did not.
This basswood carving is a memory of that event. It is my husband, Laci's favourite.
