I just purchased a CNC a short while ago. I call it Bruno. I can’t say that I am familiar with it yet. But Bruno is my assistant. I learned that the working method of Michelangelo was to create the model himself, than pass it to his apprentices who made the roughing out before he finished the sculpture himself. I consider Bruno as my apprentice.

Below you can see the computer model. The darker the colour the deeper cut. As a consequence, it can be read from the model that the nose area is the highest point of this carving.

I fed this model to my CNC and let it rough out the carving for me. And I was happily continued it from there. It took me about half of time to complete, than if I would start it from scratch.

I definitely appreciate the time saving. Thank you, Bruno.
