Adagio in G minor is attributed to Tomaso Albinoni, but it is not his work at all. Remo Giazotto, Italian musicologist, is the composer and the copyright owner.
Inspite of all the controversy about the origin, it is a beautiful piece, with slow pace, solemn mood, a gentle, celestial work, and my all time favourite.
It has been transcribed into many comination of instruments. I even found one for a 4 harp ensamle, but the transcription seems to disapierd. I had no other choise just to create one.
Talking with my harp teacher, he asked to include an optional level harp for students who has not upgraded to pedal harp yet, and/or more junior players. This is how I ended up creating a 5 harp ensamble piece.
"Harp on the Hill" students performed it during the 2023 resital. The 12 harpists represented students from beginner through intermadiate and up to advanced players. Enjoy!
